When I lost 47 pounds in three months I got many different reactions, from "Wow, you look great!" to "Did you lose weight?" from "You lost weight!! Did you try?" to "You must tell me how you lost weight!" This page is dedicated to those who asked me what the big secret to losing weight is. (To those who asked if I tried, no it was a mistake, I woke up one morning and a bulk of me was gone.)


Unfortunately, the big secret about losing weight is not really a secret. All it really involves is watching what you eat. That is what helped me lose weight; as soon as I cut down on my food I lost weight.

The diet that I followed was a low fat, low calorie diet. I concentrated mainly on avoiding high fat food - any food that had more than 4% fat (4 grams of fat per 100g). I then made sure not to eat more than 1000 - 1500 calories a day. On this diet I lost on average 2 lbs a week.

A big problem for most dieters is that of motivation. Feeling fat.net is an excellent website which has an online chart where you can keep track of your progress and chart your expected weight loss.
