Stretching the Mind...

I am currently studying for a degree through distance learning. My studies can be divided into two categories:

Psychology
Computing

Learning Hard!

What do Psychologists say to each other when they meet?

You're fine, how am I?

I am currently (2002) in my second year of psychology study; I started last year with ED209 - a course on Child development through the Open University.

I am in the middle of revision for DSE212 - Exploring psychology. It is a new course that is in place of the course DSE202 - Introduction to psychology. It has a one-week residential school, which is now being presented as a separate course from DSE212. I won't be attending the residential school but shall instead be taking DZX222 - the online alternative project.

I hope to take next year D309 - Cognitive psychology and D317 - Social psychology: personal lives, social worlds, and on completion of those two courses I will receive my BA (Hons) Psychology.

With my remaining points I am studying computing. In October 2001 I took two courses with the University of Exeter's Department of Lifelong Learning. I studied Introduction to Web Design - a course teaching the basics of HTML and web design as well as Beginning Programming with Java - a beginners' course teaching Java programming. Upon passing both courses I enrolled for the Intermediate Web Design course in January 2002.

M206 frogsThis year I am also studying the course M206 - Computing: an object oriented approach, with the Open University. It is a course that teaches object oriented programming through the language Smalltalk and the world of frogs. You could also say I was a guinea pig when I took part in the pilot presentation of TT280 - a short course on Web Development.
